First State Electric was started in 1979 by Edward Twitchell and Nicola Aievoli. They did electrical work during the day and the office work at night. Customers soon appreciated their integrity and quality of work and the company quickly grew. They bought property in New Castle and built their current shop at 25 King Court in 1997. Ed’s son-in-law, Fred Fisher pivoted from his career as a lawyer and teacher to become his partner in 2009 when Nick retired. In 2014, Ed retired and his daughter, Beth became Fred’s business partner. From Wilmington to Georgetown, Fred and Beth run First State Electric with the same integrity and quality that the business was built on.
